Hola People!

Just a post to say hi.  A warm welcome to my new followers (I love you guys!)  No, I haven't died (thankfully).  I've just been pretty busy with filling orders and brainstorming new product ideas.  Oh, and trying not to let the Fall get me in a bad mood.  I've been crazy achy the past few weeks, as I usually am when seasons change.  But I will trek on (go me, go me)!

I hit an awesome milestone this weekend.  I made my 300th sale!  WOOT WOOT!  Seriously, when I opened up my shop back in 2008, I really just thought my friends would be buying things from me out of obligation.  I feel blessed to be able to do what I love.  Something that helps me work through my condition AND helps out my family (even if just a wee bit).  Family is always the reason for everything.

We went apple picking!  It was a beautiful day.  We have been going to the same orchard since my boys were 4 and my youngest nephew wasn't even born.  Wow, how time flies!  The best part is that even though my boys are "teenagers" they still get giddy when we go up that hill (which happens to be getting steeper and steeper as time passes - maybe it's just that I'm getting old). I'm happy that we've created that awesome memory for them and that they treasure it.  A few pics of the day:

I made that apple tart in the corner there.  Actually, I made two but they somehow disappeared on less than 24 hours!  They were delish.  Just apples, cinnamon, nutmeg, very little butter and a SUPER easy paté briseé recipe I found here.  Seriously, if you have some apples laying around, try it!  You'll impress the heck out of everyone!

I was a little bummed out last week because I missed out on two fabulous things due to pain.  First, I was supposed to help fellow quiller, Juliet Hwang with her quilling presentation at the Jane Austen Society in Brooklyn.  I had to cancel :(  Then, I was supposed to help my friend Melanie out with a craft fair up in Connecticut. I couldn't go.  I was bummed out, to say the least, but it's a new week and a new day.  Isn't it true that the best part about a day is that it only lasts 24 hours, so if it's bad we getto start fresh pretty quickly.  Each day is special in its own way, even if I feel crappy.

I got a notification of being featured in this awesome treasury dedicated solely to quilling.  I love how diverse the styles are.  Quilling isn't just swirls and flowers anymore, it's so much more!  -Click anywhere to take a closer look.

I hope the rest of your week is awesomely SWEET and I hope to be back soon with more to share!
Stay warm!
