spiky little critters.
Quilling is a paper artform that dates back hundreds of years. It is the art of taking thin strips of paper, of varying widths, and rolling, gluing and shaping them into different shapes. You then take these little shapes and glue them together to create awesome quilled masterpieces (or whatever).
It's called "quilling" because the paper would be rolled onto feathers. Today we have lots of neat tools that can be used instead of feathers. You can use toothpicks, needles, awls, any thin, round cylindrical object will do. Or, you can follow the tutorial below and make your own.

Quilling is super time consuming but awesomely relaxing. You should definitely give it a try!
Here are a few tutorials I've created with the basics of quilling.
I promise you, once you start, you won't want to stop!
