Accidents Happen

Ever seen those Allstate commercials with the guy playing "Mayhem"?  They seem to sum up my life lately.  My poor car has been through a rough time recently.  We had our door bashed by a careless Target-goer and this Saturday, on our way to Trader Joe's, we were rear-ended.

I know accidents happen.  Even the bible says that "Unforeseen occurrences can befall us all",  it's still really stressful.  I'm thinking it may be time to trade in our car for a different one.  We've had it for just under a year and WAYYYY too many things have happened to it.  It has bad Mojo. ;)  LOL!

Thankfully we are ok.  Only hubby and I were in the car (so happy about that).  It was a really HARD hit, but we are still here.  Nothing some ibuprofen, muscle relaxers, and maybe a few trips to the chiropractor can't remedy (I hope).  It could have been  much, much worse!

It seems we are not the only ones being affected by the unforseen.  A friend of mine asked me to make her mother a card.  She fell off a ladder and broke her leg, poor thing.

I couldn't dedicate as much time to the card as I would have liked to, but this is what I came up with.  She says her mom has been wearing a single sneaker on her right foot for the past few months.  She refuses to use crutches and she is temporarily wheelchair-bound.  But nothing a little humor can't cure.

I used 3/8 inch quilling paper for the laces.  I usually only use those strips for flowers.  But the thin 1/8 inch that I usually use were way too thin for realistic laces.

Hope you have a much less accident-prone week ahead of you! ;)

  5. I have been involved in many accidents, as the driver and the passenger (more as the passenger..lol..I promise I'm not a bad driver..lol), my back pains continue. Just glad that it wasn't serious. Satan will try his best to ruin our day so hang in there sis. The card..well..you always do a great job. I'm sure that made her day and she was very thankful. Keep your head up.
