Truth Tuesday - Motherhood

I've been fighting a terrible cold/flu/Idunnowhat.  Bear with me, please.

Ok, my truth this week may not sit well with many, but it's MY truth:

I totally adore my kids, and I hate that I feel that I have to apologize for my feelings.   I sincerely hope your week is going smoother than mine!

  1. sorry to hear that, mine has been bad as my oldest Son has passed away. we all have feelings we just all handle them diffrently, its ok!!

  2. You are NOT alone. Every year, something in the weather leads me to the "I never wanted to be a Mom" phase, which leads into the "my life sucks" phase, which eventually leads me out after a few weeks to the "I have the most awesome kids ever" phase. yeah, makes me feel like I should be committed to an institution....but it is what it is.

  3. I'm sorry you have not been well darling! I hope to see you back your old self again soon.
    Linda K.

  4. I hear ya! I especially feel the same when my art work is interrupted because I have to change another diaper, break up a fight, or clean up another spilled (and crushed into the fibers of the sofa) cup of cheerios. Right next to the scripture from Psalm 127:3, this quote is taped on my workspace to remind me of what's important and to help me "keep it together":

    "The noblest calling in the world is that of mother. True motherhood is the most beautiful of all arts, the greatest of all professions. She who can paint a masterpiece or who can write a book that will influence millions deserves the plaudits and admiration of mankind; but she who rears successfully a family of healthy, beautiful sons and daughters whose immortal souls will be exerting an influence throughout the ages long after paintings shall have faded, and books and statues shall have been destroyed, deserves the highest honor that man can give." -David 0. McKay

  5. me too :S

  6. Thank you all for your comments ladies. It feels good to know I'm not alone and that it's ok to feel the way I'm feeling. Hopefully this week will fly by and next week will be totally different.

    @klbuley - EXACTLY! Maybe it's the Fall?!
    @Melanie - THANK YOU! I will copy and print that out! ;)
