If you've landed here from A Busy Bee's Page then you're on the right track!
The other day I was in Brooklyn (my favorite borough) and I came across this cute little shop that had a huge bucket full of vintage skeleton keys. WOW! They were all fabulous and I couldn't help but wonder what these keys may have unlocked in days gone by. I imagined a gorgeous dresser or some amazing trunk full of vintage clothing. Who knows?
Nowadays I try really hard to challenge myself to quill anything that comes to my mind. So, I quilled some skeleton keys! I used metallic papers in a pewter color and I embellished them with my favorite micro beads and gem embellishments that I've become addicted to as of late. I chose to use card stock as opposed to regular text weight paper because I figured it'd hold the shape better. I'm pretty pleased with the results. I also cut some vinyl key shapes using my Silhouette to use on the background and printed the words "Love is Key" on a piece of linen card stock. I put all of my items together in a square black shadow box that I've had in my supply closet forever. It is now my new favorite piece of work in my studio/office space. Hope you like it!!!
Thanks for hopping by!
HAPPY QUILLING EVERYONE!!
